BILLY B SINGS BIODIVERSITY WITH FACTS FROM THE WORLD WILDLIFE FUND (4:30) The title song the of Biodiversity and Billy B cd is illustrated with footage ( a bit of it shot by Billy B ) and facts supplied by the education department of the World Wildlife Fund.
CICADA – “BROOD X” (3:44) Billy B Brennan and Steve Murphy sing Cicada in honor of the “Brood X” emergence (it happens once every 17 years) in the Washington DC area in 2004. Filmed and directed by Micah Baskir. Mr. Leroy Hyson makes a guest appearance.
SUN UP, SUN DOWN (5:49) Billy B performs at Wolf Trap on the Main Stage in front of 4000 2nd to 5th graders, and the occasional parent and teacher, from Montgomery County Maryland . This is his opening song. It is the title song on his ” Sun Up Sun Down” recording. It was written by Billy.
SUMMER STAGE 09 (4:50) A show for families in Central Park, New York City. About 5000 folks on a pretty hot day.

 

THESE TREES (4:23) Billy B invites his audience onstage and proceeds to teach them the “These Trees ” dance. Billy wrote this song with Paul Seydewitz and it is on two of Billy’s recordings, “The Ways of The Bay ” and ” Billy B Sings About Trees “. Since 1984 Billy has had about 26 week long engagements at Wolf Trap’s Little Theater in the Woods.
BILLY B SINGS AT THE GALVESTON BAY DAY IN KEMAH TEXAS (4:30) Billy sings ” Big Rain “, “Flies in Black” and the “Estuary Song”. A rained out Galveston Bay Day still provides entertainment for the brave few who came out despite the downpour. The audience participated with Billy B in song and dance about the water quality and the estuaries of the Galveston Bay.
BILLY B & BIO BIO BIODIVERSITY LIVE CLIPS (6:45) About 6 minutes of edited clips of Billy B’s BioBioBiodiversity live show. This shows Billy performing for 2nd and 3rd graders. He explains vocabulary and concepts using a guitar, comedic routines and audience participation in song and dance.
BIG BANG (5:45) The spoken intro (which is not included here) allows Billy to introduce the concepts of The Big Bang, element creation in stars, the clumping of matter in space because of gravity and the subsequent creation of stars and planets. The Big Bang song and dance then reinforces these concepts visually and comically.
YIPPEE HOORAY – PLAY ALONG (3:16) Billy B gives simple guitar instructions for ” Yippee Hooray, I am a Sprout “. This was the first environmental educational song for children he wrote and that happened in 1975.
ROTTEN HERE (4:36) This clip shows Billy introducing the concept of the earth recycling its nutrients on land through forest floor decomposition. Billy tells of witnessing the effects of a drought in a forest and the reaction of the forest to a prolonged rainfall which signals the end of the drought. This intro leads to a parody of a popular rap song titled “HOT IN HERE ” (Nelly)
Billy B and The World Wildlife Fund explain the greenhouse effect and global climate change (4:18) This video skit was part of “911 Biodiversity”, a traveling exhibit that went to many museums and science centers across the country. The exhibit visitor would go from station to station interacting with the exhibit and this video would be triggered by the visitors interactions.
